Looking Forward to the Shade - of The Seventh Tree

When I first heard about Goldfrapp's forthcoming album "Seventh Tree", I was a bit disappointed. A major departure that would render them unrecognizable is what they admitted and the early reviews were disappointing. I would have loved "Supernature 2" or more explorationg of the "Felt Mountain". But once I heard "Clowns", all was well, and I realized that keeping things fresh is what keeps artists like Goldfrapp interesting. I've only heard 2 tracks from the album, "Clowns" and the first single "A&E". If those are any indication, it'll be one of my notable albums of 2008.

Here's the review from The Guardian:

CD of the week: Goldfrapp, Seventh Tree - 4 stars (EMI) Like Madonna, Goldfrapp is a chameleon. Alexis Petridis cheers her latest total musical reinvention [Guardian Music]

And here's a video I found on You Tube set to "Clowns". There's an official video out for "A&E" but I like the feel of this video put-together by a fan. It will be interesting to see the official video at some point when it inevitably comes out as a single.

I've been really out of it on that front lately. I will try to get some stuff together for you to send. Also owe your mom a copy of Amy Winehouse.
